Bushy

The biome is the second largest in the country, occupies an area of 2,036,448, represents more than 23% of the country and consists mainly in savannas. The Bushy biome occupies the whole of the Federal District and part of the territory of Bahia, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rondônia, São Paulo and Tocantins states.

The landscape of this biome is predominantly characterized by extensive savanna formations intercepted by woods among the rivers in the valleys.

The trees of the savanna are very peculiar, with twisted trunks, the leaves are usually broad and rigid. Many herbaceous plants have underground part  to store water and nutrients.
The most common problems in Bushy are usually caused by fire and it can be initially as natural fires and later caused by man.

At the moment in Brazil's Bushy biome are known more than 1,500 animal species, forming the second largest collection of animal planet.

Due to the man’s action, the biome has undergone big  changes, causing the extinction of some species. Among those which can be extinct the giant anteater, the tapir, the maned wolf, the Merganser, the falcon-breasted red, the armadillo, the armadillo, the deer, the dog -vinegar, the jaguar, giant otter and the otter.
